Beyond Good & Evil
For All Systems

This is a game that is just about perfect. The library has copies for every system. When this game came out a couple of years ago it was lost among a sea of strong selling sequels like Jax 2 and Final Fantasy X. Even though it suffered from its untimely release date, the game has developed a cult following. In this game you play Jade, a young woman who is taking care of an orphanage that is in a lighthouse. The people of Hyllis, the planet all this takes place on, believe they have always been protected from an invading Alien race by the Alpha Section, a government police force. As Jade, you are recruited by a covert organization called IRIS who believe that the Alpha Section is in league with the invading force. It is your job, as Jade, to uncover the truth. Armed with a camera, and a Bo like weapon, you alternately fight and stealthily take pictures to get the evidence you need. This is not a platformer; it’s more of an adventure game. The stealth parts are similar to stealth games like Tom Clancy or Metal Gear. There is a lot of puzzle solving though, and some racing bits in a hovercraft. This game is not too hard, and not to easy. It really is just right; I was never frustrated, and never bored. It’s short, but that’s good. It’s just long enough to be really interesting, without leaving you drained at the end.

5 out of 5
