Maki Murakami, best known for her yaoi series, Gravitation, is also the author of the (non-yaoi) action/adventure series Gamerz Heaven. Still a work-in-progress, Gamerz Heaven follows the adventures of Kaito Suzuki, a ninth-grade gaming freak, and his friends Kawashima, Rio, and Ren, as they try to unlock the secrets of a game called Gamerz Heaven.

When Suzuki recived the suspicious-looking beta release of the bizarre game in the mail, he couldn't wait to load it on his PS2. As soon as he starts it up, Suzuki is pulled into the alternate reality of the game, which. Here, he comes face-to-face with the Navigator, a young boy who acts as a guide to the player and the gate between Gamerz Heavan and the real world. The world of Gamerz Heavan is eerily similar to the real one, including the monsters that look like people Suzuki knows. The Navigator explains that the object of this game is to stop the monsters from entering the real world, and that there are only a limited number of saves. As Suzuki and his friends do their best to keep the monsters at bay, they discover that being a videogame hero isn't as easy as it sounds...
